Every message we send, and how you stop each one.
This page lists every e-mail and text message Erioun can send — who gets it, what kind it is, the consent or basis behind it, and the one step that stops it. A message type that is not on this page does not exist.
The short version
The rules we hold ourselves to:
- Marketing is opt-out in one click, always: every marketing e-mail carries an unsubscribe link that works without login, plus the standard one-click unsubscribe header your mail app understands.
- Erioun news and offers go to customers under a soft opt-in — the box is shown ticked at sign-up and you can untick it there, in Settings, or in any mail. News from our other products (JOA, Kaeros) is sent only if you tick a separate box that starts unticked.
- Visitors who join the blog newsletter confirm by e-mail first — no confirmation, no newsletter, and idle unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted.
- We do not track opens or clicks in any e-mail, and the pages behind mail links are untracked.
- Service mail — receipts, sign-in codes, the trial reminder before a charge — is not marketing and keeps arriving while your account needs it. The daily reminder and the coaching-message notice are service mail too, each with its own one-click off switch.
- SMS exists only in Erioun for Teams, only to people who ticked an unticked box or verified their own number. Every text carries a link to stop texts in one tap; where the sender can receive replies, STOP works too (and HELP is answered). Quiet hours (no texts 21:00–08:00 local) and a monthly cap per workspace apply.
- Some mail is simply carried for you: Email Hub sends and job applications leave your alias only on your instruction, one role at a time.
1. The four kinds of message
Every sender in the product belongs to exactly one kind, and a new sender is not built until it has a place here:
- Transactional — needed to deliver or secure what you asked for: sign-in mail, receipts, the trial reminder we owe you before a charge, notices about your account. No promotional content. Basis: contract (some also legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in security). These cannot be switched off while the account exists, except the few with their own marked switch.
- On your instruction — mail you tell Erioun to send, as you or to you: Email Hub sends, forwarded job mail, applications. Erioun is the carrier. It stops when you stop instructing it.
- Processor mail for an employer — what a hiring team sends its applicants through Erioun for Teams. The team is the controller; opt-outs go through the team.
- Marketing — anything promoting Erioun or another product of ours. Three categories, each with its own gate and its own one-click stop, below.
2. Transactional mail, message by message
What can arrive because your account needs it:
- Sign-up confirmation, magic link, password reset — when you ask to sign in.
- “Your Erioun trial ends on …” — one plain-text mail about seven days before a trial ends, naming the plan, the exact amount and the end date, with a one-click cancel link. You are owed this before any charge, so it has no off switch.
- Receipts for payments, naming the seller and linking the refund policy; and a notice if a conversion charge fails.
- Forwarding-address verification codes when you add a personal forward.
- Blog subscription confirmation — the double opt-in mail itself; ignore it and nothing follows.
- “Manage your Erioun e-mail preferences” — a secure link, sent only when you request it from a preference page.
- Coach flow: a seat invitation when a coach buys you a seat, and a notice when a coach asks to see part of your account. Coaches get a Monday caseload digest with its own one-click off switch.
- “New message from your coach on Erioun” / “New message from one of your clients on Erioun” — tells the other party of a coaching conversation that a new message is waiting, with a link into Erioun; never the message, the sender's name or any other detail. On by default; off with the one-click link in every such mail (or your mailbox's own unsubscribe button) or in Settings → Notifications → Coaching messages, and the conversation itself is not affected. At most one per conversation and direction every 6 hours while a message waits unread; reading the conversation resets it. Never sent to a coach who no longer has access, or to an account whose deletion is pending. Basis: contract — a service notice about your own account — with that opt-out.
- “Your job search today: …” — the daily reminder, a service message about your own job search. On by default, and sent only on days something is due: follow-ups due today or overdue, replies waiting, new strong matches from Opportunity Radar. It comes between 08:00 and 12:00 in your profile's time zone (Europe/Athens if your profile does not name a place) and carries company and role names and counts only — never the content of a message. Off with the one-click link in every reminder (or your mailbox's own unsubscribe button) or in Settings → Notifications. Nothing is sent while an account deletion is pending. Basis: contract, with that opt-out. Its send log (the day, whether it went, three counts) is kept 30 days, erased when you ask to delete your account, and included in your data export.
- Teams members: workspace invitations and admin notifications (new applicant, reply, offer signed, retention digest) to owners and admins while they hold the role.
3. Mail we send because you told us to
Email Hub sends and relayed replies leave from your own Erioun alias when you press send — each message passes an automated safety check first. An application goes to an employer only when you press apply on that one role: that press is your instruction for it, recorded with a timestamp and a fingerprint of what you approved. Never unsolicited, never in bulk. If you verified a personal forwarding address and switched forwarding on, inbound job mail is copied to it until you switch it off.
4. Marketing — three categories, one gate
Every marketing send draws its audience from one consent store that fails closed: no recorded yes, no mail. “Never decided” is not a yes. Each mail's footer says why it came, stops its own category in one click, and offers “Unsubscribe from all Erioun marketing e-mail” — and the same one-click stop rides in the mail's headers (RFC 8058), so your mail app's unsubscribe button works too. Deleting your Erioun account ends every Erioun mailing, the blog newsletter included, and keeps your address on a do-not-mail list.
- Newsletter — “New on the Erioun blog”. For visitors and customers who signed up and then confirmed by e-mail (double opt-in). Today this is the only marketing mail we actually send.
- Erioun news and offers (product news, including its connected career services such as Kaeros in its Erioun role) — for customers, under the soft opt-in of Greek law 3471/2006 art. 11(3): the box at sign-up is shown ticked and clearly labelled, you can untick it right there, and every mail can stop it. We record the wording and time of your choice.
- News from other TZEKOS.EU products (for example JOA) — only for accounts that ticked the separate box that starts unticked. Explicit consent, recorded with its wording.
- No other marketing exists: no partner mailings, no third-party offers, no list rental, in either direction.
Marketing: your objection is absolute
If you object to direct marketing — including any profiling connected to it — we stop. Immediately, unconditionally, free of charge, no reason needed (GDPR art. 21(2)–(3); Greek law 3471/2006 art. 11). One step, your choice of:
- click unsubscribe in any marketing e-mail (one click, no login), or
- use the preference centre linked from every marketing e-mail, or
- e-mail privacy@erioun.com.
- We keep only the minimum needed to remember that you said no (a suppression record), so we never contact you again by mistake. Service messages that are not marketing — receipts, security notices, a neutral “your trial ends on …” reminder — continue, because your account needs them.
5. The preference centre
The preference pages (/communication-preferences, /email-preferences, /unsubscribe and their siblings) are the tools; this page is the policy they implement. Changes there require proof it is really you — a tokenised link from one of our mails, or a confirmation mail to the address — so nobody can change your choices by typing your address. We never reveal whether an address exists. Marketing choices are never pre-selected, and every recorded choice is kept as evidence with its wording and time.
6. No open or click tracking — and what a bounce does
Our e-mail carries no tracking pixels and no wrapped links: we do not record whether you opened a mail or what you clicked. The pages our mail links to — unsubscribe, confirmations, preference pages — carry no analytics either. Delivery-status records from our mail provider (delivered, bounced) are kept 30 days so we notice breakage. When a message to an address bounces for good, or its recipient reports it as spam, the address goes on our suppression list, kept as a peppered hash: from then on no sender on Erioun — any user, any hiring workspace — can mail it, so one complaint blocks every sender. A hard bounce stays on the list 24 months after the last one; a complaint until you ask us to remove it. The privacy notice (section 6) has the detail.
7. Text messages (SMS) — Erioun for Teams only
Erioun never texts people who use it for their own job search, never texts visitors, and sends no marketing by text. Texts exist only inside Erioun for Teams, through Twilio, and only after the workspace switched texts on:
- Applicants are texted only if they ticked the unticked “Text me about my application” box on the apply form and gave a mobile number — and only at that number. The texts: an interview invitation, a booking confirmation, a reminder 24 hours before the slot, “your offer is ready to sign”, and “you have a new message”. Every text starts with the sender (“<Team> via Erioun”) and ends with a link that stops texts to that phone in one tap (“Stop texts: erioun.com/t/…”). No text carries a message's content, a candidate's name or an offer's terms.
- Team members can verify their own number with a code and choose alerts (new applicant, candidate reply, offer signed). Alerts name the role, never the person, and go only to verified numbers of current members. Member SMS alerts rest on contract, at the member's own choice.
- Every text carries a link to stop texts in one tap; where the sender can receive replies, STOP works too. Either way, texts from us to that phone stop across every workspace, immediately; the link's page turns them back on (so does START, where replies are received), and HELP answers with who texts, why, and how to stop. The opt-out record is checked before every send, queued texts included.
- Quiet hours: no texts between 21:00 and 08:00 in the workspace's timezone — a text due then waits for morning. Verification codes are the one exception.
- Each workspace has a monthly cap (200 texts unless we adjust it); at the cap texts stop and e-mail carries on.
- For applicant texts the employer is the controller and Erioun its processor; the consent record (time, wording version, a hashed number) is kept as evidence and erased with the applicant.
8. Mail an employer sends you through Erioun
If you applied through a hiring team's Erioun workspace, the team writes to you through us: verification codes, interview invitations, messages, offers, and a warning 30 days before their retention policy erases your data. These come from “<Team> via Erioun” or the employer's own address, and replies go to the team. The employer is the controller of this correspondence; opt-outs and objections go to the employer, and we pass along any that reach us. If an earlier message to your address bounced for good or you reported one as spam, the address is on our suppression list and the team's mail to you is refused too: the team sees that your address does not accept mail from Erioun, never which of the two it was.
9. Changes to this document
A new sender is not built until it has a row here, with its kind, its basis and its off switch. We revise the date at the top on every change. Change log: 26 September 2026 — first version of this page: all four kinds listed message by message, the three marketing categories and their gates, the absolute marketing objection, the preference-centre proof requirement, the no-tracking rule, and the Teams SMS channel with STOP/HELP, quiet hours and caps. It now also covers the daily reminder e-mail, the coaching-message notice and the suppression list that bounces and spam complaints feed.
10. Contact
To object to marketing or anything else about your data: privacy@erioun.com. Legal notices: legal@erioun.com. Everything else: support@erioun.com. Who we are: Loukas Tzekos – Sole Proprietorship, D. Papathanasiou Vas. 79, 54629 Thessaloniki, Greece. You can complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr) at any time.
Frequently asked
How do I stop marketing e-mail?
One click on the unsubscribe link in any marketing mail — no login needed — or your mail app's own unsubscribe button, or the preference centre, or one line to privacy@erioun.com. We stop immediately and keep only a suppression record so we never mail you again by mistake.
Why am I still getting some e-mail after unsubscribing?
Unsubscribing stops marketing. Service mail — receipts, sign-in codes, the reminder before a trial charges — keeps arriving because your account needs it. If you want nothing at all, deleting the account ends every Erioun mailing, the blog newsletter included, and keeps your address on a do-not-mail list.
How do I stop the daily reminder or the coaching-message e-mails?
One click on the link at the bottom of any of them, or your mailbox's own unsubscribe button, or the switches in Settings → Notifications. Each switch stops its own mail and nothing else: your applications, your coaching conversation and your other e-mail settings are untouched.
Will Erioun text me?
Not as a job seeker — Erioun sends no SMS outside hiring workspaces, and no SMS marketing exists. If you applied to a company through Erioun for Teams and ticked the SMS box on their form, that team can text you about your application. Every text carries a link to stop texts in one tap; where the sender can receive replies, STOP works too. Either one stops them all.
Does Erioun know if I opened a mail?
No. There are no tracking pixels and no wrapped links in our e-mail, and the pages our mail links to are untracked. We keep only delivery-status records (delivered, bounced) for 30 days — and, for an address that bounced for good or reported our mail as spam, its entry on our suppression list.
What is the difference between Erioun news and ecosystem news?
Erioun news and offers cover this product and its connected career services; customers get them under a soft opt-in they can untick at sign-up, in Settings or in any mail. Ecosystem news covers our other products, like JOA, and is sent only if you ticked a separate box that starts unticked.
